Cómo combinar botas de agua y que sean parte del look

How to Style Rain Boots So They're Part of Your Look

Rain doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style. In fact, rain boots can be the piece that transforms the whole look. Here are five ideal outfits to inspire you over the coming autumn months.

Jeans, Fine Knit and Trench Coat

Jeans tucked into the boots, a fine-knit sweater underneath and an open trench coat on top, with the belt left undone. Choose a beige or camel trench, mid-blue denim and matte boots in black, grey or khaki.

It’s one of those combinations that feels made for October. Three understated shades, no single piece trying to steal the spotlight, and the rubber boot as the only element adding a different texture or subtle shine.

Midi Dress and Opaque Tights

The soft drape of a knitted or fluid-fabric midi dress paired with a boot that is anything but delicate. That contrast is exactly what makes the combination work so well.

The tights also have a big impact on the final look. Choose the same shade as the boots — black with black, for example — and the leg appears longer. Opt for a contrasting colour and you create a visual break exactly where the boot ends, completely changing the proportions of the outfit. The same pieces, two very different looks.

Monochrome Look

From camel to off-white, or different shades of black worn together, with the boots kept within the same colour palette rather than standing apart from it. A monochrome outfit always looks more considered than it really is.

Texture does most of the work. Chunky knitwear, smooth fabrics and the finish of a rain boot will never reflect colour in exactly the same way, even when they technically share the same shade. Those subtle differences are what create depth.

Wide-Leg Trousers and Chunky Knitwear

Wide-leg trousers in a fluid fabric, a chunky knitted sweater and short rain boots just peeking out from underneath the hem. All the volume sits at the top, with only the toe of the boot visible.

Here, the boot is barely seen, and that is precisely the point. In matte black, it almost disappears beneath the trousers. With a glossy finish or an animal print, that tiny visible section becomes the detail that draws the eye.

Midi Skirt and Knee-High Socks

A midi skirt, a shirt or fine-knit sweater, and a couple of centimetres of sock showing above the top of the boot. A very small detail that can completely change the outfit.

The sock works almost like an additional colour element. Ribbed or chunky wool styles add texture when the rest of the look is smooth. In off-white or in the same shade as the skirt, they simply soften the transition and blend into the outfit. In a contrasting colour, they become the detail that stands out.
